The International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP), also known as the Carte Jaune or Yellow Card, is an official vaccination report created by the World Health Organization (WHO). As a travel document, it is a kind of medical passport that is recognised internationally and may be required for entry to certain countries where there are increased health risks for travellers.

ICVP is most commonly used for :

1. Yellow Fever vaccine

2 .Meningococcal vaccine for Hajj travelers aged more than or equal to two years .

3. Residents of and travelers staying for more than four weeks in countries with wild poliovirus (WPV1 ) or circulating Vaccine Drive poliovirus (CVDP1 or CVDP3) transmission with potential risk of international spread must show proof that the they have received polio vaccine between four weeks to 12 months prior to leaving the country

4 .Before issuing a visa or permitting entry into a territory some individual polio free countries require travelers coming from Polio endemic countries to show proof of recent polio vaccination .

5. With the surge of COVID cases, many countries that tightened restrictions to curb the spread of covid 19 infection .One of the intervention strategies is to require international travelers to present a proof  that they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to their entry to a country of destination.
