Unwanted Hair

Laser hair removal (Non-invasive, minimal downtime of 1-2 days). We have FDA FDA-approved Epilaze laser from Rohrer Aesthetics for Laser Hair Removal. It provides all three types of laser including Alexandrite, 810 nm diode, and ND Yag laser.

We don’t provide Electrolysis as a laser hair removal option. Electrolysis and laser hair removal are both popular methods for achieving long-term hair reduction, but they differ in their mechanisms, effectiveness, and suitability for different hair and skin types. Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method for permanent hair removal, making it suitable for all skin and hair types.

Laser hair removal, while not permanent, offers long-term hair reduction and is more efficient for larger treatment areas. The choice between electrolysis and laser hair removal depends on individual preferences, skin and hair types, treatment goals, and budget. Electrolysis is usually a more expensive treatment option compared to laser hair removal. It usually takes more time to remove hair using electrolysis but it can be used for all types of light to dark pigmented hairs.

How is Sculptra compared to Radiofrequency microneedling for skin firmness restoration at your Medical Spa?

Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling and Sculptra collagen-stimulating injections are both effective treatments for restoring skin firmness, but they work through different mechanisms and have unique characteristics. Here’s a comparison of the two:

RF Microneedling

We use the Pixel8 RF Microneedling device from Rohrer Aesthetics. This treatment combines microneedling, which creates controlled micro-injuries in the skin, with radiofrequency energy, which heats the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production. The microneedles deliver RF energy precisely to the targeted areas, triggering the body’s natural healing response and promoting the formation of new collagen and elastin fibers. This treatment can be used on various areas of the face and body, including the face, neck, décolletage, and hands, to improve skin texture, tone, and firmness.

Multiple sessions are usually recommended for optimal results, with most individuals undergoing a series of 3 to 4 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Downtime is minimal, with most individuals experiencing mild redness, swelling, and sensitivity immediately after the procedure. These effects typically resolve within a few hours to a day, although some minor swelling and redness may persist for a day or two.

Results are typically noticeable within a few weeks after the initial treatment session and continue to improve over time as collagen remodeling occurs. Maintenance treatments may be recommended every 6 to 12 months to sustain results.

Sculptra Collagen-Stimulating Injections

Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) injectable filler that works by stimulating the body’s own collagen production. When injected into the skin, Sculptra microparticles act as a scaffold, gradually stimulating the production of new collagen over time. This results in improved skin thickness, elasticity, and firmness.

This treatment is typically used on the face to restore volume, improve contours, and enhance skin firmness, particularly in areas such as the cheeks, temples, and jawline. A series of treatment sessions is recommended, typically ranging from 2 to 4 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Results with Sculptra are gradual and progressive, with collagen production continuing over several months.

For this treatment, downtime is also minimal, with most individuals able to resume normal activities immediately after treatment. Some temporary swelling, bruising, or redness at the injection sites may occur but usually resolves within a few days. The results develop gradually over several weeks to months as collagen production increases. The effects of Sculptra can last up to 2 years or longer, although touch-up treatments may be necessary to maintain optimal results.

In summary, both RF microneedling and Sculptra collagen-stimulating injections are effective options for skin firmness restoration, but they work through different mechanisms and may be used in different areas of the face and body. The choice between the two treatments may depend on factors such as individual concerns, treatment goals, and preferences, and may sometimes be used synergistically for enhanced results. Consulting with a qualified skincare professional can help determine the most suitable treatment approach based on your specific needs.

How do you compare CO2 laser, Erbium Yag, and IPL laser treatments in your Medical Spa?

Comparing CO2 laser, Erbium YAG laser, and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) involves understanding their differences in mechanism, depth of penetration, and the specific skin concerns they address.

CO2 Laser

We use the Phoenix CO2 laser device from Rohrer Aesthetics.

  • CO2 lasers emit a wavelength of light that is highly absorbed by water in the skin cells. This energy vaporizes the skin cells, creating controlled thermal damage and triggering collagen production.
  • CO2 lasers are considered ablative, meaning they remove outer layers of skin. They penetrate deeper into the skin compared to Erbium YAG lasers.
  • CO2 lasers are effective for treating deep wrinkles, severe sun damage, scars (including acne scars), and skin laxity. They can also improve overall skin texture and tone.
  • Downtime with CO2 laser treatment is typically longer compared to Erbium YAG and IPL, ranging from 7 to 14 days. It involves significant redness, swelling, and peeling as the skin heals.

Erbium YAG Laser

We provide Erbium YAG laser using the Spectrum laser from Rohrer Aesthetics.

  • Erbium YAG lasers emit a wavelength that is absorbed by water in the skin cells, causing controlled ablation and thermal damage. They are considered less ablative than CO2 lasers, making them suitable for more superficial treatments.
  • Erbium YAG lasers have a shallower penetration depth compared to CO2 lasers, making them ideal for targeting the epidermis and superficial dermis.
  • Erbium YAG lasers are effective for treating fine lines, mild to moderate wrinkles, superficial scars, sun damage, and age spots. They can also improve skin texture and tone.
  • Downtime with Erbium YAG laser treatment is shorter compared to CO2 lasers, typically ranging from 3 to 7 days. It involves some redness, swelling, and peeling, but less so than with CO2 lasers.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

We provide IPL laser using Spectrum laser from Rohrer Aesthetics.

  • IPL uses broad-spectrum light pulses to target melanin (pigment) and hemoglobin (blood vessels) in the skin. It heats and destroys unwanted pigment or vessels, promoting collagen production.
  • IPL targets the superficial layers of the skin, primarily the epidermis and superficial dermis.
  • IPL is effective for treating sun damage, hyperpigmentation, redness (such as rosacea), vascular lesions, and uneven skin tone. It can also improve the appearance of fine lines and mild wrinkles.
  • Downtime with IPL treatment is minimal, with some individuals experiencing mild redness and swelling that typically resolves within a day or two. Most people can resume normal activities immediately after treatment.

  • In summary, below are the conditions best treated with CO2, IPL and Erbium Yag laser treatments:
    • Deep Wrinkles, Scars, and Severe Sun Damage: CO2 laser.
    • Fine Lines, Superficial Scars, and Mild to Moderate Sun Damage: Erbium YAG laser.
    • Sun Damage, Hyperpigmentation, Redness, and Vascular Lesions: IPL.

How are Alexandrite laser, ND Yag laser, and 810 nm diode for laser skin removal at your Medical Spa?

Epilaze laser device from Rohrer Aesthetics provides all three lasers including Alexandrite, ND Yag, and 810 nm diode. Comparing the Alexandrite laser, 810 nm diode laser, and Nd:YAG laser for hair removal involves understanding their differences in wavelength, skin penetration, effectiveness, and suitability for various skin and hair types. Here’s a comparison:

Alexandrite Laser

  • The Alexandrite laser emits light at a wavelength of 755 nanometers (nm), which is highly absorbed by melanin (pigment) in the hair follicles. This makes it effective for targeting melanin-rich hair follicles while minimizing damage to surrounding skin.
  • The Alexandrite laser has a shallower penetration depth compared to the 810 nm diode and Nd:YAG lasers, making it ideal for targeting hair follicles in the epidermis and upper dermis.
  • The Alexandrite laser is highly effective for treating light to medium skin types with dark, coarse hair. It is considered one of the most effective lasers for permanent hair reduction.
  • Ideal for individuals with light to medium skin tones and dark, coarse hair.

810 nm Diode Laser

  • The 810 nm diode laser emits light at a wavelength of 810 nm, which also targets melanin in the hair follicles. It penetrates deeper into the skin compared to the Alexandrite laser, making it suitable for thicker and deeper hair follicles.
  • The 810 nm diode laser penetrates deeper into the skin compared to the Alexandrite laser, making it suitable for targeting hair follicles in the deeper dermis.
  • The 810 nm diode laser is effective for treating a wide range of skin types and hair colors, including lighter skin types with dark, coarse hair.
  • Suitable for a wide range of skin types and hair colors, including lighter skin tones with dark, coarse hair.

Nd: YAG Laser

  • The Nd: YAG laser emits light at a wavelength of 1064 nm, which has a longer wavelength than the Alexandrite and diode lasers. This allows it to penetrate even deeper into the skin, making it suitable for treating darker skin types and finer hair.
  • This laser penetrates the deepest into the skin among the three lasers, making it suitable for targeting hair follicles in the deepest dermis and for treating darker skin types.
  • This laser is effective for treating all skin types, including darker skin types, and is particularly useful for individuals with finer hair or hair that is resistant to other laser types.
  • It is suitable for all skin types, including darker skin tones, and effective for treating finer hair or hair that is resistant to other laser types.

The number of treatments required for optimal results varies depending on factors such as hair color, hair thickness, skin type, and the specific area being treated. In general, multiple treatment sessions are required for permanent hair reduction, with sessions typically spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.

In summary, each type of laser has its advantages and is suitable for different skin and hair types. The choice between the Alexandrite laser, 810 nm diode laser, and Nd:YAG laser depends on individual characteristics, treatment goals, and the expertise of the practitioner. Consulting with a qualified doctor can help determine the most suitable laser type for achieving desired hair removal results.
